Campus Unions operates a range of student-activity facilities, event centers, food service areas and support services that contribute to the quality of community life on the UC Davis campus. The department is best known for its management of the Memorial and Silo Unions. These two facilities include lounges for studying or relaxing, meeting rooms, and food service areas. The Memorial Union (MU) features the games area, with bowling, billiards and video games; a barber shop; the MU Art Gallery; and the MU Campus Information Center.
Campus Unions also manages the Recreation Pool Lodge and the Putah Creek Lodge, which are available for meetings, weddings, receptions, dances and lectures, and Freeborn Hall, which serves as a venue for student events, concerts, cultural shows, conferences and trade shows.
The Memorial Union Business Office provides business services to several university departments and helps to coordinate other business and human resource needs for the student union operation. The department relies on a large student workforce to operate its facilities and offers numerous employment and leadership opportunities.
