Alpha Phi Omega

Alpha Phi Omega is a national, co-ed, inclusive community service fraternity that emphasizes leadership, friendship, and most important, service.

The 150-member UC Davis chapter offers a fourfold program of service, with projects on campus, such as helping out with Picnic Day; in the community working at the senior center and local food banks; for the country, helping national groups like March of Dimes; as well as chapter fundraisers.

The chapter also creates projects, such as Santa for Kids, which provides gifts and fun to preschools with children from disadvantaged backgrounds. In total, members complete more than 10,000 service hours a year. The fraternity holds two rushes per year, one in the fall and one in the spring and welcomes everyone to come join in the events. For more information visit the chapter Web site.

Says member Alice Cheng, "Volunteerism is the lifeblood of a community.Alpha Phi Omega gives college students a way to give back to the communities we thrive in, as well as a chance to make a visible impact and improve these communities. Seeing what my simple efforts can do for others while making lasting bonds with fellow members is why I am proud to be a member of this fraternity!"
