Biomedical Engineering Society
The 50-member Biomedical Engineering Society is open to all undergraduates, although club president Jeff Stephens says most members are biomedical engineering majors. Annual membership costs $20, which also gets you a complimentary club t-shirt.
"I decided to join BMES to get to know other Biomedical Engineering students outside of class," says Stephens. "In addition to providing a social outlet for Biomedical Engineering students, BMES offers career and academic assistance. My involvement with the society has given me the opportunity to network with graduate students, professors, and industry representatives. " Information about BMES meetings and special events is updated on the BMES Web site.
Stephens says the main spring event is Biomedical Engineering Bowling. "We rent the campus bowling alley and invite society members to bowl with biomedical engineering professors and graduate students," says Stephens.
