| SPOTLIGHT ON STUDENT LIFE :: Pre-Pharmacy Club |
Pre-Pharmacy Club"Being in the Pre-Pharmacy Club has developed my leadership skills, my ability to communicate with others, my ability to work as a team member and my understanding of pharmacy as a career choice," says club president Franco Franca. The Pre-Pharmacy Club holds a function at least once a week, according to Franca, whether it is a meeting, an event, a fundraiser, or guest speakers. Says Franca, "Currently we have visits lined up from Touro University and University Of the Pacific to talk about their pharmacy programs." Franca says the club helped him become a more competitive applicant for pharmacy school, as well as connecting him with community–service opportunities and mentorship programs that enhanced his appreciation for the health sciences. "The club provides members an excellent opportunity to learn how to become a competitive applicant for pharmacy school and increase knowledge about the field of pharmacy," says Franca.
