SPOTLIGHT ON STUDENT LIFE :: Ultimate Frisbee Sport Club

Ultimate Frisbee Sport Club

"The men's Ulimate Frisbee club, known as 'Davis Dogs,' welcomes new players throughout the year, including beginners, says player Chris Mahaffey. "Around 30-50 people attend each practice. Ultimate Frisbee is great for athletes who did sports in high school and would still like to participate in a team sport. There are two teams: an A-team, which is highly competitive and a B-team, which is more laid back and focused more on learning the game of ultimate." (For information on the women's team, visit their Web site.)

The Ultimate Frisbee club is one of 36 sport clubs at UC Davis. The clubs offer competition in a wide range of sports, from alpine skiing to water skiing. Dues also vary; contact the sport club you're interested in for specific information.

All clubs within the Sport Club program are registered student organizations on the UC Davis campus that are sponsored and administered by the UC Davis Intramural Sports & Sport Club Office. Every club is formed, developed, and governed by its student membership in conjunction with the Sport Club Staff. The goal of the Sport Club program is to develop and foster the leadership skills of UC Davis students through their participation in competitive activities. Sport Clubs are governed by the rules set forth by the Sport Club Department.
