How do I prepare for law school?

Law student speaking to a judge in a courtoom

There is no "pre-law" major at UC Davis, and according to the American Bar association (ABA), there is no one major or set of courses that best prepares a student for law school. However, the ABA has identified some of the skills and qualifications necessary to be successful in law school. Based on this information, the pre-law adviser has created a limited list of classes from the current UC Davis catalog that develop these skills and background. Again, there are no required pre-law classes; these are just suggestions and there may be many other classes not on the list that could be helpful.

If you do one thing, do this!

The Student Academic Success Center provides pre-law advising and to stay apprised of all things pre-law at UC Davis, including mock LSAT exams and career-preparation events at the law school and more, sign up for the pre-law adviser listserv.

You'll be notified of more helpful events than you can shake a gavel at!

Also, consider applying for inclusion in the King Hall Outreach Program (KHOP) or the Pre-Law Boot Camp!

Court is adjourned.
