Coffee House and Tercero Phase II
Coffee House
The $9.3 million Coffee House Renovation entails a complete interior renovation of the existing facility. Earlier this year the Office of the President approved the financial scope of the project, and the planning team just completed the schematic design phase. This student-fee-funded project includes a renovation of all service points within the facility, with emphasis on excellent customer service and modernizing and upgrading fiinishes. The very popular bakery will be relocated to the south side and become a focal point for the large dining area. Many walls which currently divide the Coffee House from Coffee House Too, will be removed to allow a more spacious environment. New seating areas will be developed as well.
Tercero Housing Phase II
The $55 million Tercero Housing Phase II project builds housing for nearly 600 first-year students in the Tercero Precinct. The project consists of three four-story buildings with some central services occurring on the first floor of Building 1. An earlier renovation of the Tercero Dining Commons expanded that facility to accommodate this next phase of housing. The project includes both double- and single-person bedrooms in cluster concept with 8-10 students sharing restrooms. Study and social lounges are designed to best meet the needs of students. The project is currently scheduled to open to residents fall quarter 2010.
