Student Assistants to the Chancellor 2012-2013
Annemarie Stone, Artem Trotsyuk and Miguel Espinoza are the 2012-2013 Student Assistants to the Chancellor.
Because of the challenges the campus currently faces and the additional workload placed on this year's student assistants, the chancellor allowed hiring of the top three candidates for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Annemarie is a senior graduating in June 2013, with a double major in English and American Studies. She is currently chair of the ASUCD Academic Affairs Commission and vice chair of the ASUCD Scholarship Committee, as well as a food pantry volunteer and third-year Davis Honors Challenge student. Annemarie is also serving as the coordinator for speakers and workshops in this year's Whole Earth Festival.
Artem is also a senior graduating in June 2013, with a major in biological sciences and a minor in writing. Artem has served as the business and finance commissioner at ASUCD and as a research ambassador for the Undergraduate Research Center. He is also the student coordinator for the King High Mentor Program through the Community Service and Resource Center at the Internship and Career Center. Artem is also currently involved in various IM Sports.
Miguel is a senior graduating in June 2013, with a major in women and gender studies. Miguel has served as an ASUCD senator and commissioner of the Gender and Sexuality Commission. He has also served in various leadership and volunteer capacities at the Student Recruitment and Retention Center, the Cross Cultural Center and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Resource Center. In addition, Miguel has served as the co-chair of the Queer Student Union, the budget chair of the Student of Color Conference, and has been a facilitator or coordinator in a wide array of student organizations and committees.
Overall, Annemarie, Artem and Miguel have an outstanding record of service and leadership on campus and in the community. Each brings a complementary set of leadership skills and experiences to the position.
