 Studying abroad
A message from Camran Sadeghi, Education Abroad Program coordinator
Hello! Welcome to the awesome world of study abroad! I'm Camran, a recent UC Davis graduate and study abroad fanatic. I advise students who wish to go abroad for a summer, quarter, semester, or year on the UC-wide Education Abroad Program. The countries I advise for are: China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Germany. If you choose to go on a non-UC program you may also come in to speak with me. I'm also the reciprocity student adviser, so if you are an international student here in Davis through EAP, I'm your adviser too! Come in and see me if you want to tap into my wealth of study abroad knowledge and experience. I've studied abroad multiple times—yes, you can go more than once—in Switzerland (high school), Germany (EAP), Greece (UC Davis Summer Abroad), and China (Fudan University Special Summer Program). I've also traveled all over and worked abroad as well. I've used financial aid to cover much of my study abroad expenses—thankfully financial aid travels with you on UC programs! However, I've found that living abroad is typically cheaper than living in Davis, so it is likely that you will SAVE money by studying abroad. Make an appointment to see me or come by during my drop-in hours, 3:00–4:00 p.m., and we will try and find the perfect program for you!
Start by attending a "First Steps" workshop at the UC Davis Education Abroad Center. The EAC Web site also describes programs offered through UC Davis, and how to integrate studying abroad into your academic plan./p>
