Dear Students,

In an effort to most effectively reach students with timely UC Davis WarnMe and Aggie Alert messages, in the 2024-25 academic year the university will add to its emergency notification system the phone numbers of all registered students. We are instituting this change as one of several recent enhancements to campus safety efforts.

UC Davis WarnMe messages provide information to the UC Davis community (including the Davis campus, Sacramento health campus and off-campus facilities) regarding emergencies that pose an immediate threat to life and safety. Aggie Alert messages provide notification about events that may cause disruption to normal activities.

The notification system automatically sends WarnMe and Aggie Alert alerts via email to all members of the community with an @ucdavis.edu address currently sends text messages only to those who have opted in to add their mobile phone numbers.

For students who already have enrolled for text messages, the WarnMe system will continue to use the mobile numbers students have provided. For students not currently enrolled, the phone numbers to be added will be those provided by students at the time they applied to attend UC Davis.

Students may update their WarnMe contact information or opt out of text message alerts at any time by visiting the WarnMe Information website. Contact information entered into the WarnMe database is for WarnMe and Aggie Alerts only.

In addition to text messages and emails, members of the Davis campus community only can receive push notifications for WarnMe and Aggie Alert messages by downloading the Everbridge Mobile App. This is particularly important for those with international phone numbers, as the WarnMe system cannot send text messages to international numbers.
