Farewell, thank you and congratulations to Interim Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Emily Galindo
IVC Galindo’s retirement in June caps a 36-year career with UC Davis, which saw her rise from administrative assistant I to IVC for Student Affairs. Under her leadership, dining services succeeded in transitioning to self-operation, and on-campus housing expanded significantly to accommodate a growing student population and offer a greater diversity of options. As interim vice chancellor for Student Affairs since May 2018, she has steered the division through times of transition with steadiness and compassion.
We also would like to congratulate her on being honored this year with a Parthenon Award. This award is the highest honor presented by the Association of College and University Housing Officers – International to a campus housing professional. Becoming part of the Parthenon Society indicates that “a member has left an indelible imprint on the campus housing profession and helped forge a foundation that will be built upon for generations to come.”
We thank IVC Galindo for her service to Student Affairs and the university!
