Executive Director, Amy Shuman
Amy Shuman serves as the Executive Director of Staff Coaching and Professional Development for the Division of Student Affairs at UC Davis. She holds a master's of arts in Leadership, is a Gallup advanced certified Strengths coach, and professional certified coach with the International Coach Federation. She leads workshops and coaches employees to help them maximize their potential. Amy is particularly passionate about leadership and empowering people to create a positive workplace culture. Amy has over a decade of human resources management experience and works with leadership on people management, communication, employee engagement and overall workplace climate. Amy believes we are all on a quest to become the best versions of ourselves, and that process takes time, reflection, feedback, practice and... coaching!

Senior Trainer and Strengths Coach,
Jeff Heiser
Jeff Heiser is our Senior Trainer and Strengths Coach for Staff Coaching and Professional Development in the Division of Student Affairs at UC Davis. He holds a master’s in recreation and leisure studies with an emphasis in non-profit management. A Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, Jeff also holds Professional Certified Coach (PCC) and Advanced Certification in Team Coaching (ACTC) credentials from the International Coaching Federation.
He conducts one-on-one coaching with leaders at all levels, leads Strengths and teambuilding workshops across the division, and enjoys facilitating strategic planning and goal-setting retreats. Jeff is committed to helping individuals explore their strengths and discover how to utilize them daily to feel more energized, engaged, and happy at work—and in their lives. He is excited to work with staff across Student Affairs to help them establish goals, explore their strengths, and gain new perspectives.
