This calendar lists all the upcoming professional development courses, workshops, programs and events available to Student Affairs staff.

Summer Quarter 2025

Small Group Mentoring Program (FULL)

This 6-month program pairs small groups of 2-4 mentees with a Student Affairs mentor to support professional development, goal setting, and networking within the division.

  • Location: UC Davis Campus, various locations

NEW! Journal Coaching Drop-in Hour

In this virtual drop-in program, Lorna Gill will lead you through a journaling session alongside peers. You will be provided a prompt at the start of the session,  and have the option to share takeaways at the end.

  • Date/Time: Weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays, July - August
    • Mondays, July 14, 21, August 4, 18, 25 | 11:30 am - 12:30 pm
    • Wednesdays, July 16, and August 6 | 9 am - 10 am
    • Wednesdays, August 14, 20, 27 | 12 pm - 1 pm

Gallup Strengths Coach Certification Course (FULL)

A five-day onsite program to become a Gallup-certified Strengths coach and join the campus coaching community.

  • Date/Time: July 28, 29, 30, 31, and August 1 | 8 am - 5 pm

Student Affairs Strengths Summit 2025

The Student Affairs Strengths Summit is back! Get together with colleagues from across the division to connect, learn from strengths experts and share knowledge with one another, all centered on the CliftonStrengths framework.

  • Date/Time: August 21, 9 am - 4 pm
  • Location: The Multi-purpose Room at the Student Community Center

Strengths & Resilience

This two-part workshop helps participants address stress and burnout by using CliftonStrengths frameworks to create tailored wellbeing strategies and recognize unhelpful work/life patterns.

    • Location: The Memorial Union, De Carli Room

Fall Quarter 2025

Leading with Strengths

A three-day workshop focused on leadership development with a strengths-based lens and a coach approach to supervision. Eligible staff include professional staff who supervise at least 2 FTE professional staff members. Note: For supervisors of students, look out for the spring cohort. 

  • Date/Time: December 8, 9, and 10  | 9 am - 4:30 pm
  • Location: The Multi-purpose Room at the Student Community Center
